IfEP GmbH was founded in February 2006 to accomplish proficiency tests in the field
of the mechanical-technological, metallographical and related testing methods. The
company is the successor of the “Institut für Eignungsprüfung Ingenieurgesellschaft
GbR “, which was founded in April 2000. The quality policy and the operational practice of
the IfEP GmbH base on the demands of the guide ILAC G13: 2000 (Guidelines for the
requirements for the competence of providers of proficiency testing schemes), the
ISO/IEC Guide 17020 (General criteria to manage different types of administrations
which accomplish inspections) and the ISO/IEC Guide 43-1 (Proficiency testing by
interlaboratory comparisons).

IfEP GmbH provides the realisation of these purposes with all necessary resources.
IfEP makes sure by suitable preliminaries that the results of work are properly
shown regardless of commercial interests and foreign influences. The payment of
the staff is regardless of the achieved results. IfEP itself pursues no test laboratory.
The customer is assured that all materials used by IfEP correspond to the highest
quality requirements. For the choice and characterisation exclusively competent
subcontractors are selected. IfEP undertakes to follow and assemble all security
and environmental restrictions to be applied on his activities. No environment-damaging
substances are used by IfEP. All environmentally hazardous products / substances
/ aid are marked accordingly. The quality purposes are adapted yearly to the topical
requirements. An annual industrial safety instruction is carried out by the quality
manager. The participation in the proficiency tests organised by IfEP, as well as
the authoritative material certified by IfEP, are open in general to all interested
skilled laboratories. A proficiency test which is organised by order of a customer
for a limited circle forms an exception. The attempts which are ordered by laboratories
for internal purposes likewise belong to it, too. Participants are pointed out to
the future use of applied samples by letter.
